November 18, 1970
Mayor Tilden Rodgers
City Hall
West Memphis, Arkansas 72301
Dear Tilden:
This brief letter is written to confirm Pete Duncan'e recent conversation with you.
Fran a general standpoint I would like to report that we are making progress and getting back
into production with our West Memphis facilities. After we investigated our damage due to the
fire we found that a substantial portion of our piping had to be replaced. Accordingly, our
construction schedule was modified, however, we felt the most important thing would be to
concentrate on reactivating our production capabilities.
We have, as Pate explained, been delayed in providing adequate office accommodations and,
therefore, we would appreciate the City's consideration in permitting our continued use of the
Utility Building on a month-to-month basis. We certainly appreciate the consideration which
has been shown and feel that a rental charge should be made if and when it is within
the realm of posaiblity that we continue the utilization of subject premises. Recognizing that
we had anticipated completion of our usage in November, I would suggest that any rental be
retroactive through November 1970.
Again, I appreciate the consideration which has been shown by the City and will look forward
to your advisement on this request.
With beat personal regards,
Sincerely,
SOUTHERN PETROLEUM COMPANY, INC.
