2045ORDINANCE NO. 0'-IS AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE PERSONNEL MANUAL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the employees of the City of West Memphis have encouraged the Personnel Committee to amend the Personnel Manual of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, by adding the position of "grandchild" to the definition of immediate family members; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Memphis desires to amend the Personnel Manual of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, to incorporate the recommendations of the Personnel Committee; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Section 4.2, Paragraph 8, of the Personnel Manual of the City of West Memphis is hereby amended to read as follows:: Sick leave may be granted to employees due to illness of a member of the immediate family_ "Immediate Family" shall mean the father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, child, grandfather, grandmother, grandchild, in-laws or any other individual acting as parent or guardian of an employee. SECTION 2. Section 4.5, Paragraph 2, of the Personnel Manual of the City of West Memphis is amended to read as follows: The City will grant one (1) day of leave, with continuance of pay, for you to attend the funeral of the following relatives: father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, child, grandfather, grandmother, grandchild, in-laws or any other individual acting as parent or guardian of an employee. If additional time off is necessary, arrangements must be made with your department head for vacation, sick leave or leave without pay. .. ~ r ~ SECTION 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict.
