A RESOLUTION APPROVING A GRANT FROM THE FEDERAL
AVIATION ADMINISTRATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,282,439.00,
FOR PROJECT NUMBER 3-OS-0065-020-2007 AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS TO OBTAIN
THE GRANT, APPROVING EXPENDITURES, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis and the West Memphis Municipal Airport
Commission have been approved for assistance under the Airport Improvement Program, as
authorized by the Airport and Airway Improvement Act of 1982, as amended by the Airport and
Airway Safety and Capacity Expansion Act of 1987, and/or the Aviation Safety and Noise
Abatement Act of 1979; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration has allocated for the West Memphis
Municipal Airport a grant in the total amount of $2,282,439.00, for project number 3-OS-0065-
020-2007 to be used to rehabilitate runway 17-35; and
WHEREAS, this grant was previously approved by the West Memphis City Council in

the amount of $1,800,000.00 and the grant amount has been amended to $2,282,439.00 and the
West Memphis City Council desires to approve the grant in the amended amount;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT the grant from the Federal Aviation
Administration in the amount of $2,282.439.00 for project number 3-OS-0065-020-2007 is
hereby approved and accepted and the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute
the necessary documents to obtain the grant; and
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that, for purposes of Section 3.08.040 of the West
Memphis Municipal Code, project number 3-OS-0065-020-2007 may require expenditures of said
grant funds in excess of $50,000 and such expenditures are hereby authroized and confirmed by
the City Council.
