A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE
COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT PLAN
FOR THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS
WHEREAS, the West Memphis City Council adopted a Comprehensive
Development Plan on October 25, 2000 by Resolution Number 1675, which has served to
provide guidance for public and private development for the City of West Memphis and
surrounding areas; and
WHEREAS, the West Memphis Planning Commission and the West Memphis City
Council find it desirable and necessary to amend the Comprehensive Development Plan to
reflect current and future development priorities; and
WHEREAS, the Arkansas Municipal Planning Statutes, ASA 14-56-401, et. seq.,
permit the City Planning Commissions to prepare plans, ordinances and regulations within
the territorial jurisdiction of the legislative body of a city having a planning commission;
and
WHEREAS, the West Memphis Planning Commission has designated an area
within said territorial jurisdiction and filed same with the Crittenden County Recorder; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to two public hearings held on March 28, 2001 and April
25, 2001, the West Memphis Planning Commission recommended to the West Memphis
""` City Council to amend the Comprehensive Development Plan for the City and Planning
Area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
THAT, the amended Comprehensive Development Plan as prepared and
recommended by the Planning Commission be and hereby is adopted.
