A RESOLUTION FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF PROCEEDS RECEIVED
PURSUANT TO A.C.A. §23-111-_503 TO LOCAL CHARITABLE
ORGANIZATIONS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, A.C.A. §23-111-503 authorizes each dog racing franchise holder to conduct three
additional days of racing at any dog racing meet with one third of the net proceeds to be deposited with
the city treasurer or collector of the city in which the dog racing track is located for credit to the city
general fund to be used for charitable purposes only, as determined by the mayor and governing body;
and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council that any proceeds received by the City of West
Memphis pursuant to A.C.A. §23-1.11-503 be distributed for the use and benefit local charitable
organizations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT all proceeds received by the City of West Memphis
pursuant to A.C.A. fi23-111-503 shall be distributed to the use and benefit of local charitable
organizations.
