A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FROM THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS TO MELVIN AND MARY HOLMES
(AS PARTICIPANTS IN THE HOPE-3 PROGRAM) AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE THE DEED AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, A.C.A. Section 14-54-302 authorizes municipalities toy real
property upon authorization by written resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development had real
property located at 504 Stuart Street, West Memphis, Arkansas, which it has sold to the
City of West Memphis for $1.00 (one dollar); and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis desires to transfer such real property to
the Melvin and Mary Holmes to be utilized as part of the HOPE-3 Program and to be
transferred pursuant to the guidelines of the HOPE-3 Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
The transfer by the City of West Memphis of the real property located at 504
Stuart Street, West Memphis, Arkansas, to Melvin and Mary Holmes is hereby approved
and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute the deed or
other appropriate instrument to transfer title from the City of West Memphis to the Melvin
and Mary Holmes and to take any and all actions necessary to accomplish such transfer.
