A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTIES FROM THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS TO THE GOOD NEIGHBOR/LOVE
CENTER FOR USE IN THE HOPE-3 PROGRAM AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE THE DEEDS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, A.C.A. Section 14-54-302 authorizes municipalities to buy real
property upon authorization by written resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development had real
properties located at 406 North OK Street, 520 North 28th Street, 2912 White Street and
2900 Beatty, West Memphis, Arkansas, which it has sold to the City of West Memphis for
$1.00 (one dollar) each; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis desires to transfer such real properties to
the Good NeighborlLove Center to be utilized as part of the HOPE-3 Program and to be
transferred pursuant to the guidelines of the HOPE-3 Program to qualified recipients;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
The transfer by the City of West Memphis of the real properties located at 406
North OK Street, 520 North 28th Street, 2912 White Street and 2900 Beatty, West
Memphis, Arkansas, to the Good Neighbor/Love Center to be utilized as part of the
HOPE-3 Program, is hereby approved and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute the deeds or other appropriate instruments to transfer
title from the City of West Memphis to the Good Neighbor/Love Center and to take any
and all actions necessary to accomplish such transfers.
