1718RESOLUTION NO. (~) IS
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A GRANT FROM THE FEDERAL AVIATION
ADMINISTRATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $175,000.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS TO OBTAIN THE
GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has been approved for a grant of Federal Funds for
a project for development of the West Memphis Municipal Airport; and,
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration has allocated for the West Memphis
Municipal Airport a grant in the amount of $175,000.00 for project number 3-OS-0065-15-O1 to be
used together with funds provided by the City of West Memphis and the State of Arkansas for a total
project cost of $195,444.45 to remove approach obstructions to Runway 17, which includes timber
clearing, structure and debris removal;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT the grant from the Federal Aviation Administration
in the amount of $175,000.00 for project number 3-OS-0065-15-O1 is hereby approved and accepted
and the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the necessary documents to obtain
the grant.
