RESOLUTION NO. ~ 7 ~ ~
A RESOLUTION TO AMEND RESOLUTION 1619 REGARDING
THE POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS FOR
THE WEST MEMPHIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Resolution 1619 created the position of Director of Internal Affairs at the
West Memphis Police Department and established a rate of compensation for the position as the
same as the position of Inspector; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the rate of compensation for the position
of Director of Internal Affairs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Resolution 1619 is hereby amended to read as follows:
There is hereby created within the West Memphis Police Department the position of
Director of Internal Affairs which shall he at the same rate of compensation as the current
rank of the individual appointed to such position.
SECTION 2. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby

repealed to the extent of any such conflict.

A RESOLUTION TO CREATE WITHIN THE WEST ivlEivIPHIS POLICE
DEPARTMENT THE POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Police Commission has considered and approved the creation of the
position of Director of Internal Affairs for the West Memphis Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the salar<~ for the position of Director of Internal Affairs for the West Memphis
Police Department has been appropriated in the present budvJet at the same rate of compensation as
the position of Inspector for the West Memphis Police Department: and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish within the West ivlemphis Police
Department the position of Director of Internal Affairs at the same rate of compensation as the
position of Inspector for the West Memphis Police Department;
SOW, THEREFORE. BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE C1Tl' COUNCIL OF THE CITE'
OF WEST ~IEivIPHIS, ARI:AVSAS THAT:
