A RESOLUTION APPOINTING PAUL LUKER AS THE CITY'S LOCAL AGENT
TO'OVERSEE THE'HAZA'RD MI`TICrA`TION PROJECT ON AUBURN STREE`f
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis is applying for a Hazard Mitigation Grant to
purchase and demolish the I8 flood-prone properties on the north side of Auburn Street between
South Avalon and Rice Street, and
WHEREAS, one of the requirements of receiving funding for the project is to appoint a
local agent to act on the City's behalf and to establish and maintain a proper accounting system to
record expenditures of disaster assistance funds in accordance with generally accepted
accounting standards or as directed by the Governor's Authorized. Representative; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of West Memphis wishes to appoint Paul Luker,
Director of Planning s~ Development as the City's local agent for the purposes of this grant
application;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MENIPHTS; ARKANSAS, that Paul Luker is hereby appointed as the City's local agent to
oversee the hazard mitigation project on Auburn Street according to the terms of the Grant.
