AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2-171 OF THE WEST
MEMPHIS MUNICIPAL CODE ESTABLISHING THE SALARY FOR
THE POSITION OF CITY ATTORNEY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, A.C.A. §14-43-410(b)(1)(A) provides that"[b]y proper ordinance, any city
or town may specify pay for the city attorney as the council may desire;" and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the salary for the position of West
Memphis City Attorney;
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS,THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 2-171 of the West Memphis Municipal Code is here by amended
to read as follows:
The annual salary for the city attorney is established at one hundred three thousand eight
hundred and nine ($103,809.00) dollars to be retroactive from January 1, 2022.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of any such conflict.PASSED AND APPROVED this /7
