AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF
BODY CAMERAS FOR THE WEST MEMPHIS POLICE DEPARTMENT TO BE
PROVIDED BY MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
SIGN THE MASTER CUSTOMER AGREEMENT,AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated Section 14-58-303 allows waiving of competitive
bidding in exceptional situations where such procedure is deemed not feasible or practical; and
WHEREAS, there are many items necessary for the City's use where competitive bidding is
deemed not feasible or practical; and
WHEREAS, the West Memphis Police Department desires to purchase body cameras that are
compatible with the existing in-car camera equipment; and
WHEREAS, Motorola Solutions is the sole provider for the existing equipment and for the
equipment to be purchased, and competitive bidding under such circumstances would not be feasible or
practical;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
1. That competitive bidding be waived for the following items to be used by the City, described
as follows:
The purchase of body cameras for the West Memphis Police Department that is compatible with
the existing in-car camera equipment to be provided by Motorola Solutions in the amount of
eighty-nine thousand six hundred dollars ($89,600.00),I ,.'
