AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 4: BENEFITS, TO ADD SUBTITLE:
MISCELLANEOUS EMPLOYEE REIMBURSEMENT OF THE EMPLOYEE
HANDBOOK OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS,AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of West Memphis desires to amend the
Employee Handbook of the City of West Memphis,Arkansas, forthe purpose of modifying the
section regarding Benefits to add subtitle Miscellaneous Employee Reimbursement.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS,THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 4: Benefits, is amended to add Subtitle: Miscellaneous Employee
Reimbursement, of the Employee Handbook of the City of West Memphis to read as follows:
MISCELLANEOUS EMPLOYEE REIMBURSEMENT
The Mayor has the authority to grant employees permission to achieve professional
development training related to their position. This includes, but not limited to
continuous education courses, tuition reimbursement and/or professional conferences.
Single courses and conference will be paid for by the City, however,tuition
reimbursement will be provided after proof of a passing grade of a C or better.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of any such conflict.
SECTION 3. The effect of this ordinance shall be retroactive to January 1, 2021.
