RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS
AMENDING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT PROGRAMS (B-89/94/96-MC-oS-
0009~
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis, Arkansas is carrying out a variety of
community improvement activities with funds received under provisions of Title I of the
Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis is desirous of approving an amendment to
this program by revising certain line items; and
WHEREAS, there has been prepared for the stated purpose an Amendment to the
CDBG Progams, which is identified as a printed document which was reviewed at this
meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
1. That Amendment No. 1 dated May 7, 1998, as identified above, be and hereby
is approved in all respects as an official revision to the City's CDBG Programs
and the Final Statements of Community Development Objective and Projected
Use of Funds.
2. That the Mayor be and hereby is authorized to notify, advise, and otherwise
publish information required in order to effectuate this Amendment.
3. That all of the findings and determinations regarding the CDBG Programs are
hereby reaffirmed and made applicable to this resolution as if same were
repeated herein in their entirety.
4. That this resolution shall take effect immediately.

AMENDMENT NO. 1

The principal purpose of Amendment No 1 is to reallocate funds among the
specific previously approved activities that are currently part of the programs listed above.
This amendment is intended to accomplish adjustments to the overall program which will
allow the City to complete the implementation of various activities in the most efficient
and effective manner possible, and to continue meeting needs and opportunities for
assistance to low and moderate income residents within the community.
Provisions of Amendment:
The B-89-MC-OS-0009 program is hereby revised and amended to wit:
The remaining balance of $9,451.49 in the Rehabilitation -Home Security
Program will be transferred to the Rehabilitation -Elderly Program, this
program was previously allocated in this grant.
The B-94-MC-OS-0009 program is hereby revised and amended to wit:
The remaining balance of $1,000.00 in the Rehabilitation -Commercial -
Main Street will be transferred to the Rehabilitation -Elderly Program, this
program was previously allocated in this grant.
The B-96-MC-OS-0009 program is hereby revised and amended to wit:
The Rehabilitation -Elderly program amount will be reduced by $9,451.49,
the remaining balance amount of the Rehabilitation -Home Security
Program from the B-89 grant that was amended above. This amount will
be reallocated to the Rehabilitation -Home Security Program line item
created in the B-96 grant.
Amendment No. 1 is hereby approved in all respects.
