A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE WEST MEMPHIS AIRPORT
COMMISSION TO CONDEMN FEE SIMPLE INTEREST IN LAND
WHEREAS, the West Memphis Airport Commission has attempted to negotiate with
Ottis Chadwick and Naomi E. Chadwick and James E. Hood for the acquisition of fee simple title
to certain real property described as follows:
Lot ~, J.C. Rainer Subdivision of the south'/~ of Section 10, Township 6 North,
Range 8 East, as shown by plat of record in Plat Book 2 at Page 13 in the records
of the Crittenden County Circuit Court Clerk and Ex-Officio Recorder; and
WHEREAS, efforts to negotiate the acquisition of fee simple title to the real property
have been unsuccessful; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of said real property is necessary for the future growth and
development of the West Memphis Municipal Airport; and
WHEREAS, the West Memphis Airport Commission has determined that it will be
necessary to condemn said property in order to acquire fee simple title to said real property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT the West Memphis Municipal Airport
Commission and its legal counsel are hereby authorized to bring a condemnation action for the
purpose of acquiring fee simple title in and to the above-described real property.
