ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE PORT OF WEST MEMPHIS'ACCESS ROAD
WIDENING PROJECT.
V11HER, Arkansas Code Anno#a#ed 5ec#ion 99-11-$g~, et seq., provides the
procedure for the selection and negotiation of contracts for professional services, including
prnfessionai engineering services; and
WHEREAS, compe#i#ive .bidding for the procurement of pro#essional engineering
services is prohibi#ed: and
WH~RE~, the City of West Memphis is in need of contracting for professional
engineering services for the Port of West Memphis' Acxess Road Widening Project-and
~IIIHER~A$, the Ci#y of Wes# Memphis has reviewed and evaluated the current
statements of qualifications and performance data on file, selected the required number of
firrr-s and negotiated a con#ract wi#h the firrr- considered the best qualified and capable of
performing the desired work, that being Sorrell Consulting Engineers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, that the selection of Sorrell Consulting Engineers to
provide engineering services to -the City of West Memphis for the Port of West Memphis'
Access Road Widening Project is hereby approved and the Mayor and the City Clerk are
hereby authorized #o execute the necessary contracts on behalf of the City of West
Memphis forthe engineering services to be provided Sorrell Consulting Engineers.
