A RESOLUTION TO RATIFY AND CONFIRM THE AUTHORITY OF THE
MAYOR TO SIGN THE AMENDED PETITION FOR ANNEXATION OF
CERTAIN PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS.
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, owns approximately 5 acres within a
8 ~ 5.; acre tract lying in a fractional part of Section 3, 4 and 10, Township 6 North, Range 8 East,
and all of Section 33, less and except the Southwest Quarter (SW'/a), Township 7 North, Range 8
East, Crittenden County, Arkansas, for which an amended petition has been filed with the County
Court of Crittenden County for annexation to the City of West Memphis; and
WHEREAS, former Mayor Al Boals signed the amended petition for and on behalf of the
City of West Memphis and the City Council finds that such action was in the best interests of the
City of West Memphis and should be, and hereby is, ratified and confirmed in all respects as the
properly authorized action on behalf of the City of West Memphis.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT the actions of former Mayor AI Boals of signing the
amended petition on behalf of the City of West Memphis are hereby ratified and confirmed in all
respects as the properly authorized action on behalf of the City of West Memphis and as properly
authorized as of the time of such actions.
