A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE
CRITTENDEN COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS CENTER AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Crittenden County has established a communications center for the purpose
of providing communications services for the county and its municipalities including the City of
West Memphis; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis desires to participate in the Crittenden County
communications center in exchange for payment to Crittenden County of only such 9-1-1 funds
received by the City of West Memphis that are not otherwise restricted; and
WHEREAS, the participation of the City of West Memphis is to be conditioned upon the
dedication of at least one dispatcher per shift to handle such fire related calls as may be necessary
to protect the present rating of the West Memphis Fire Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the participation of the City of West
Memphis in the Crittenden County communications center in exchange for payment to Crittenden
County of only such 9-1-1 funds received by the City of West Memphis that are not otherwise
restricted and conditioned upon the dedication of at least one dispatcher per shift to handle such
fire related calls as may be necessary to protect the present rating of the West Memphis Fire
Department and upon such additional written terms and conditions as may be acceptable to the
parties.
SECTION 2. For each City of West Memphis dispatcher employed by Crittenden County
as a dispatcher the City of West Memphis shall pay to such dispatcher a severance in an amount
equal to the difference between the Crittenden County pay scale and the City of West Memphis
pay scale for such individual as established at the date of employment by Crittenden County, to be

SECTION 3. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute such
documents on behalf of the City of West Memphis as may be necessary for these purposes.
SECTION 4. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
