AN ORDINANCE ATTACHING AND INCORPORATING CERTAIN
DESCRIBED ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD ONE OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, A.C.A. ~ 14-40-203 requires that when any territory shall have been annexed
to any incorporated town or city, it may be, and it is the duty of the town or city council of the
incorporated town or city to attach and incorporate the annexed territory to and in one (1) or
more wards of the incorporated town or city lying adjacent thereto; and
WHEREAS, the following described territory has been annexed to the City of West
Memphis and is adjacent to Ward One of the City of West Memphis:
3,060 acres more or less lying in a fractional part of Section 19, 30 and 31, T-7-N, R-8-E,
a tractional part of Section 1, T-6-N, R-7-E, and a fractional part of Sections 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 and
10, T-6-N, R-8-E, Crittenden County, Arkansas and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the existing city limits which is the point of intersection of the
east line of the NW'/4 of Section 10, T-6-N, R-8-E, and the south right-of-way line of Interstate
Highway 40, thence North along the east line of the NW'/4 of said Section 10 to the southeast
corner of the SW'/4 of Section 3, T-6-N, R-B-E, thence North along the east line of the SW'/4 of
said Section 3 to the northeast corner of the SW'/4 of said Section 3, thence West along the north
line ofthe SW'/4 of said Section 3 to the northwest corner of the SW'/4 of said Section 3, thence
West along the north line of the SE'/4 of Section 4, T-6-N, R-8-E to the center of said Section 4,
thence South along the west line of the SE'/4 of said Section 4 to the northeast corner of the
NW'/4 of Section 9, T-6-N, R-8-E, thence West along the North line of the NW'/a of said Section
9 to the northwest corner of the NW'/4 of said Section 9, thence South along the west line of said
Section 9 to the southwest corner of the NW'/4 of said Section 9, thence West along the north line
of the SE'/4 of Section 8, T-6-N, R-8-E, to the center of said Section 8, thence North along the
east line of the NW'/4 of said Section 8 to the northeast corner of the NW'/4 of said Section 8,
thence West to the southeast corner of Section 6, T-6-N, R-8-E, thence North along the east line
of said Section 6 to the northeast corner of the SE'/4, NE'/4 of said Section 6, thence West to the
northwest corner of the SE'/4, NE'/a of said Section 6, thence North to the northeast corner of the
NW'/4, NE'/4 of said Section 6, thence West along the south line of Section 31, T-7-N, R-8-E, to
the southeast corner of the W'/~, SW'/a of said Section 31, thence North along the east line of the
W'/~, SW'/4 of said Section 31, thence North along the east line of the W'/~, SW'/4 of said Section
31 to the northeast corner of the W'/~, SW'/4 of Section 31, thence East along the south line of the
NW'/4 of said Section 31 to the center of said Section 31, thence North along the east line of the
NW'/4 of said Section 31 to the southeast corner of the SW'/a of Section 30, T-7-N, R-8-E, thence

North along the centerline of said Section 30 to its intersection with the centerline of the Union-
Pacific Railroad, thence in a northwesterly direction along the centerline of the Union-Pacific
Railroad to its intersection with the West line of Section 19, T-7-N, R-8-E, thence South along
the west lines of Sections 19, 30, and 3 1, T-7-N, R-8-E, to the SW corner of said Section 31, also
the NW corner of Section 6, T-6-N, R-8-E, thence South along the west line of said Section 6,
also the east line of Section 1, T-6-N, R-7-E, to the NE corner of the SE'/4 of said Section 1,
thence west a distance of 330 feet, thence south parallel to the east line of said Section-1 a
distance of 1,320 feet, thence east a distance of 330 feet to a point on the west line of Said Section
6, T-6-N, R-8-E, thence South along the west line of Section 6 to the SW corner of said Section
6, also the NW corner of Section 7, T-6-N, R-8-E, thence South along the west line of said
Section 7 to its intersection with the North right-of--way line of Interstate Highway 40, thence in a
east and northeasterly direction along the meanders of the north right-of--way line of Interstate
Highway 40 through Section 7, 8 and 9, T-6-N, R-8-E, to its intersection with the east line of said
Section 9, thence continue in a northeasterly direction through Section 10, T-6-N, R-8-E, along
the north right-of--way line of Interstate Highway 40 a distance of 2,180 feet more or less to a
point, thence in a southeasterly direction along a line perpendicular to the north right-of--way line
of Interstate Highway 40 a distance of 300 feet more or less to a point on the South right-of--way
line of Interstate Highway 40 at its intersection with the centerline of 15 Mile Bayou, said point
also being on the existing City Limits of West Memphis, thence continue along the existing city
limits N70°25'E - 471.36 feet, S19°35'E - 15.0 feet, N70°25' E - 39.44 feet, to the point of
beginning containing 3,060 acres more or less.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The above described territory is hereby attached and incorporated to Ward
One of the City of West Memphis.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
