A RESOLUTION COMMENDING CAPTAIN DONNIE GEAN FOR HIS TENURE WITH THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS.
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has been fortunate to have Captain
Donnie Gean as a dedicated employee; and
WHEREAS, Captain Donnie Gean began work with the City of West
Memphis on December 6, 1974 and was promoted to Captain on December 1,
1985; and
WHEREAS, Captain Donnie Gean performed the duties of Chief Jailer at
the West Memphis Police Department and as such his duties include
processing all incoming and outgoing prisoners, treatment and medical
records for all inmates, responsible for all jail records, how much time
prisoners are incarcerated, fingerprinting prisoners, administers data
base intoxilizer text, and transporting prisoners to and from court; and
WHEREAS, Captain Donnie Gean was a valued City of West Memphis
Employee for 20 years before his retirement on August 15, 1994; and
WHEREAS, Captain Donnie Gean after 20 years of service is retiring
to assume the position of chief of Security at Mid-South Community
College;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT Captain Donnie Gean be commended for his
service and dedication to the citizens of West Memphis.
