A RESOLUTION TO REQUEST THAT APPOINTMENTS AND ELECTIONS BE
MADE TO THE PERSONNEL COMMITTEE AS SET OUT IN CHAPTER 2.90 OF
THE WEST MEMPHIS MUNICIPAL CODE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 2.90 of the West Memphis Municipal Code
establishes a Personnel Committee to be composed of five
employees, the mayor, three aldermen, the finance director and the
personnel director; and
WHEREAS, the employee members are to be elected with one
representative from the police department, fire department, public
works, utility department, and all other departments, and the
three aldermen are to be appointed by the mayor; and
WHEREAS, no members have been elected or appointed to the
Personnel Committee as set out in Chapter 2.90 of the West Memphis
Municipal Code and elections and appointments should be made in
order that the Personnel Committee may function properly;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT all necessary actions be
taken immediately to call for elections of employee members to the
Personnel Committee and for the appointment of the three aldermen
members of the Personnel Committee. f
