A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS CERTIFYING LOCAL GOVERNMENT
ENDORSEMENT OF A FACILITY TO BE LOCATED AT 3301 MID
AMERICA BOULEVARD TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ARKANSAS
ENTERPRISE ZONE PROGRAM OF 1993 AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK/TREASURER TO SIGN THE
CERTIFICATE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT ENDORSEMENT AND
OTHER FORMS, AS REQUIRED.
WHEREAS, the local government must endorse a business or
enterprise to participate in the Arkansas Enterprise Zone Program
and benefit from the refunds/tax credits as provided in the Arkansas
Enterprise Zone Program Regulations of 1993; and
WHEREAS, Watkins Motor Lines, INC, located at 3301 Mid
America Boulevard, has sought to participate in the program and
more specifically has requested benefits accruing from construction
of the specific facility; and
WHEREAS, Watkins Motor Lines, INC has agreed to furnish the
local government all necessary information for compliance.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE City
Council OF the City of West Memphis, ARKANSAS, THAT:
1. Watkins Motor Lines, INC be endorsed by the City Council
of West Memphis, Arkansas for benefits from the refunds/tax
credits as provided in the Arkansas Enterprise Zone Program
Regulations of 1993, through June 30, 1999.
2. the Department of Finance and Administration be authorized
to refund local sales and use taxes to Watkins Motor Lines,
INC.
3. this resolution shall take effect immediately.
