A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS CERTIFYING LOCAL GOVERNMENT
ENDORSEMENT OF A FACILITY TO BE LOCATED AT SOUTH
PORT ROAD TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ARKANSAS
ENTERPRISE ZONE PROGRAM OF 1993 AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO SIGN THE
CERTIFICATE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT ENDORSEMENT
AND OTHER FORMS, AS REQUIRED.
WHEREAS, the local government must endorse a business or
enterprise to participate in the Arkansas Enterprise Zone Program
and benefit from the refunds/tam credits as provided in the Arkansas
Enterprise Zone Program Regulations of 1993; and
WHEREAS, Diaz Chemical Corporation, located at South Port
Road has sought to participate in the program and more specifically
has requested benefits accruing from construction of the specific
facility; and
WHEREAS, Diaz Chemical Corporation has agreed to furnish the
local government all necessary information for compliance.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE City
Council OF the City of West Memphis, ARKANSAS, THAT:
1. Diaz Chemical Corporation be endorsed by the City Council of
West Memphis, Arkansas for benefits from the refunds/tax
credits as provided in the Arkansas Enterprise Zone Program
Regulations of 1993, through June 30, 1999.
2. the Department of Finance and Administration be authorized
to refund local sales and use taxes to Diaz Chemical
Corporation.
3. this resolution shall take effect immediately.
