A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO THE STATE BOARD OF
HIGHER EDUCATION
WHEREAS, a higher educational facility in West Memphis, Arkansas, is a
tremendous benefit to the citizens of the City of West Memphis; and
WHEREAS, the present campus of Mid-South Community College is inadequate
to meet enrollment growth; and
WHEREAS, the campus of Mid-South Community College must have adequate
funding to provide essential resources, staff, and facilities to meet the needs of its students;
and
WHEREAS, the State Board of Higher Education has acknowledged these needs
by allocating 1.7 million dollars to Mid-South Community College
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WEST
MEMPHIS ARKANSAS;
That the City Council of the City of West Memphis expresses its appreciation to the State
Board of Higher Education for this crucial support of Mid-South Community College,
West Memphis, Arkansas.
