2612 ORDINANCE NO. Z--6 12'
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE
OF A SPECIALIZED POLICE VEHICLE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated Section 14-58-303 allows waiving of
competitive bidding in exceptional situations where such procedure is deemed not feasible or
practical; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of purchasing a specialized police vehicle,
which is equipped with all police equipment and a license plate reader; and
WHEREAS,John Wright Associates is the sole source provider for the 2020 Ford
Interceptor Utility and competitive bidding under such circumstances would not be feasible or
practical;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS:
1. That competitive bidding be waived for the following item to be used by the City,
described as follows:
Purchase of a 2020 Ford Interceptor Utility from John Wright Associates for a total
expenditure of$68,500.00.
