A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AN AGREEMENT FOR PRIVATE/PUBLIC
REAR PARKING PARTNERSHIP NORTH SIDE, 800 BLOCK OF EAST
BROADWAY, WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, the area of downtown West Memphis is nearing its goal of 100% occupancy
and the issue of additional parking has become a priority; and
WHEREAS, the owners of certain properties in the downtown area of West Memphis
have agreed to permit the use of portions of their properties for public parking and to maintain the
hard surface of the paved lots and to provide other improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has agreed to provide hard surfacing for these
parking areas and to provide striping ;and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the agreement to provide rear parking for customers,
business owners and their employees, thereby freeing on-street parking for customers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS THAT the agreement for Private/Public Rear Parking Partnership
North Side, 800 Block of East Broadway, West Memphis, Arkansas, is hereby approved and the
Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement on behalf of the City of West
Memphis.
