A RESOLUTION APPROVING A REVISION TO THE 2023 BUDGET.
WHEREAS,A.C.A. §14-58-203 states the governing body may alter or revise the
budget and unpledged funds appropriated by the governing body for any purpose may be
subsequently, by action of the governing body, appropriated to another purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Director of the City of West Memphis,Arkansas, deems it
necessary to request a change in the approved budget for 2023; and
WHEREAS,the Finance Director requests to amend the budget for salaries,for the
following positions: Mayor goes from$87,000 to $104,000, Council members goes from
•
$13,200 to $15,600, City Clerk goes from$13,200 to $15,600, City Treasurer goes from$13,200
to $15,600 and City Attorney goes from$103,808.90 to $117,000.00.
WHEREAS, the Finance Director of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, finds that the
request for changes in the approved budget for 2023 has met all requirements as stated in this
statute and it is appropriate that the requested changes should be approved in the amount of
$37,391.10;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS, THAT the changes in the 2023 budget for the
City of West Memphis are hereby approved and shall be in full force and effect from and after
the date of its passage and approval.
