A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, AUTHORIZING
THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF WEST MEMPHIS
TO APPLY FOR RENTAL REHABILITATION FUNDS FROM
THE U. S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AHD URBAN DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis is desirous of continuing to
undertake the improvement of the housing stock of the City of West
Memphis; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis is desirous to undertake
Rental Rehabilitation activities pith funds available under the
provision of the Housing and Urban-Rural Recovery Act of 1983, as
amended; and
WHEREAS, the Application and Program Description for the Rental
Rehabilitation Program has been prepared by the Community
Development Agency of West Memphis; and
WHEREAS, the City is required to submit to the U. S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development certain certifications of
compliance pith applicable statutes and executive orders associated
rith the Rental Rehabilitation Program.
NOM THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
1. That the Application and Program Description for the Rental
Rehabilitation Program is hereby approved to serve as the
guiding instrument for the continuation of the Rental
Rehabilitation Program; said Program to be administered by
the Community Development Agency of West Memphis.
2. That the Mayor be and hereby is authorized to submit to the
Little Rock Area Office of the U. S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development said Application and Program
Description.
3. That the Mayor be and hereby is authorized to provide
additional information to the U. S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development as may be requested, and that the
Director of the Community Development Agency of West
Memphis be designated the "lead person" for the Rental
Rehabilitation Program.
4. That the Application and Program Description shall continue
to serve as a guide for the Rental Rehabilitation Program.
S. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval.
