A RESOLUTION APPROVING A GRANT FROM THE FEDERAL
AVIATION ADMINISTRATION IN THE AMOUNT OF ;547,000.00
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
DOCUMENTS TO OBTAIN THE GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has been approved for
assistance under the Airport Improvement Program, as
authorized by the Airport and Airway Improvement Act of
1982, as amended by the Airport and Airway Safety and
Capacity Expansion Act of 1987, and/or the Aviation Safety
and Noise Abatement Act of 1979; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration has
allocated for the West Memphis Municipal Airport a grant in
the amount of $547,000.00 for project number 3-05-0065-04
to be used to reconstruct and strengthen portions of the
apron; reconstruct portions of the taxiways; mark runway;
relocate windcone and segmented circle; construct airfield
drainage improvements; install taxiway guidance signs; and
upgrade runway lighting;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT the grant from the
Federal Aviation Administration in the amount of
$547,000.00 for project number 3-05-0065-04 is hereby
approved and accepted and the Mayor and the City Clerk are
hereby authorized to execute the necessary documents to
obtain the grant.
