1267RESOLUTION NO. 1267 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO REVIEW LIENS IMPOSED FOR GRASS CUTTING AND DEMOLITION WORK AND TO REQUEST THE RELEASE OF CERTAIN LIENS. WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has caused liens to be placed on the tax books of the Crittenden County Tax Collector for grass cutting and demolition work expenses incurred by the City of West Memphis; and WHEREAS, for various reasons certain liens for such expenses may not have been placed on the tax books until after the real property involved changed ownership and the new owners may not have been aware of the existence of the City's efforts to recover its expenses; and WHEREAS, the imposition of a lien for such expenses may be inappropriate as to a new owner without notice of the City's claim for such expenses; and WHEREAS, it is found that the City Attorney should be authorized to review the imposition of such liens and those on improper addresses and to request the release of any liens found to have been placed on improper addresses or on the tax books after ownership of the real property had been transferred to a new owner without notice of the City's claim after the grass cutting or demolition work and before the imposition of the lien, and that the City Attorney be further authorized to pursue the collection of such expenses from the properly responsible parties; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS THAT: 1.
