2652 ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 5 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1588
ESTABLISHING THE MOSQUITO CONTROL,PROVIDING FUNDING,AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1588 established the mosquito control and provided
funding; and
WHEREAS,the Mayor has recommended that Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1588 of the
City of West Memphis be amended;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS,THAT:
SECTION 1: Section 5 of Ordinance 1588 shall be amended to read as follows:
Funding for the Mosquito Control and its' mosquito control efforts shall be provided
from a fee of$1.50 per month which is hereby levied against all dwelling houses and
other establishments in the City of West Memphis, Arkansas. Such fee shall be payable
monthly and included on each monthly utility statement from the West Memphis Utility
Commission, or its successor. The assessment of this fee shall be reviewed annually by
the City Council at such time as the annual budget is presented and considered by the
City Council.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of any such conflict.
