A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SELECTION OF CHADD DURRETT TO
PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICES ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS RELATING TO THE ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY FOR THE
FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FOR SUCH
LEGAL SERVICES.
WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated Section 19-11-801, et
seq., provides the procedure for the selection and negotiation
of contracts for professional services, including legal
services; and
WHEREAS, competitive bidding for the procurement of legal
services is prohibited; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has required legal
services relating to the acquisition of property for the Flood
Protection Project; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has reviewed and
evaluated the current annual statements of qualifications and
performance data on file, selected the required number of firms
and negotiated with the firm considered the best qualified and
capable of performing the desired work, that being Chadd
Durrett; and
WHEREAS, Chadd Durrett has provided legal services for the
acquisition of property for the Flood Protection Project and
submitted a statement in the amount of $8,909.55 for services
thru June of 1992;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, that the selection of Chadd
Durrett to provide legal services to the City of West Memphis
for the acquisition of property for the Flood Protection
Project is hereby approved and the Mayor and the Clerk are
hereby authorized to execute any necessary contracts on behalf
of the City of West Memphis for such professional legal
services and to pay to Chadd Durrett the sum of $8,909.55 for
legal services thru June of 1992.
