A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY'S REPETITIVE LOSS
PROGRAM FOR THE NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has pursued an
aggressive program since 1988 to reduce flooding and
thereby increase public safety, reduce property damages,
avoid economic disruptions and losses and reduce human
suffering; and
WHEREAS, the City has participated in the National
Flood Insurance Program's Community Rating System (NFIP's
CRS}; and
WHEREAS, the NFIP's CRS recognizes the effort that the
City has made by reducing flood insurance rates city wide;
and
WHEREAS, the NFIP's CRS requires the City to submit a
Repetitive Loss Plan to continue the reduced flood
insurance rates; and
WHEREAS, the City has submitted a Repetitive Loss Plan
and the NFIP's CRS has accepted the Plan pending approval
,;` by the City Council ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, that the City Council
hereby approves the Repetitive Loss Plan for the City as
submitted to the National Flood Insurance Program's
Community Rating System.
