WHEREAS, there has been filed with the City Council of

the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, by Chandler G. Watkins,
Dorothy S. Watkins and Oliver, Wheeler and Thomas, Inc., a
petition to vacate the following alley and street:
(a) The 30-foot alley abutted on the north by Lot 1, and
on the south by Lot 14 in Block 3 of Wheeler Subdivision, West
Memphis, Arkansas, as shown by plat of record in Plat Book 2
at pages 113 and 114, more particularly described as beginning
at the northwesterly corner of said Lot 14, thence continue in
a northerly direction 30 feet to the southwesterly corner of
said Lot 1, thence easterly along the south line of said Lot 1
to the southeasterly corner of Lot 1, thence south 30 feet to
the northeasterly corner of said Lot 14, thence westerly to
the point of beginning;
(b) That part of Thomas Avenue abutted on the south by
Lot 1 in Block 3 of the Wheeler Subdivision as shown by the
above plat and on the north by the acreage as shown on the
above plat and more particularly described as beginning at the
northwesterly corner of said Lot 1, thence east l00 feet to
the northeasterly corner of Lot 1 in Block 3 of Wheeler
Subdivision in the city of West Memphis, Arkansas, thence
north 60 feet to the north line of Thomas Avenue, thence 100
feet west to a point, thence in a southerly 60 feet to the
point of beginning.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That said petition to close the above described alley and
street in the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, be set down for
hearing on the 6th day of May, 1993, at 1:30 p.m. at the City
Council Chambers in the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, and
that the City Clerk give notice as required by law of the
r hearing to be held.
