AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 2426 AUTHORIZING
ALDERMEN AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO PURCHASE
SERVICES FROM MAYOR MARCO McCLENDON,AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, State Statute 14-42-107 states that in order for Aldermen or Members of the
City Council to conduct business with the City, that it is necessary that an Ordinance be passed
by the Governing Body, specifically,permitting Aldermen and Members of the City Council to
conduct business with the City and prescribing the extent of such authority; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2426 authorized aldermen and members of the city council
to purchase services from Alderman Marco McClendon doing business as Marco McClendon
Vision; and
WHEREAS,Marco McClendon was elected Mayor of the City of West Memphis in
2018; and
WHEREAS,the City of West Memphis desires to utilize the services of Mayor Marco
McClendon, doing business as Marco McClendon Vision and Blackberry Molasses;
THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 2426 be amended and made retroactive for services
purchased from Mayor Marco McClendon doing business as Marco McClendon Vision and
Blackberry Molasses beginning January 1, 2019.
