RESOLUTION NO. 1068
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the application
by U. S. Pizza to sell "ON PREMISES BEER and WINE" at
109 South Worthington, West Memphis, Arkansas, has been
denied; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined the Applicant has
appealed the decision of the Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage
Administration denying the request; and,
WHEREAS, due to the proximity of the U. S. Pizza in
West Memphis, Arkansas, to the West Memphis Boys Club,
where boys between 7 and 18 years of age come and go
constantly in the afternoon, and until 10 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS, the potential danger caused by people who
would drive vehicles after drinking beer and wine would
create a risk to life and limb; and,
WHEREAS, it is believed advisable to protest, along
with others, that the appeal be not granted;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, that the City Council
strongly opposes the applicaton of the U. S. Pizza for an
"ON PREMISES BEER and WINE PERMIT" to sell beer and wine
at 109 South Worthington, West Memphis, Arkansas; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of
thisResolution be sent to the following:
