RESOLUTION N0. 1069
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has many advantages
for people who want to work in a big city and live in a
small town with a small town atmosphere; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined from reading the
newspaper that in the very near future approximately 450
families will be leaving the City of New York and moving
to Memphis, Tennessee; and,
WHEREAS, it is believed that the advantages of living
in West Memphis should be made available to the officials
of the International Paper Company in New York City, in
belief that when the "giant" move is made to bring the 450
families to Memphis from New York City, some of these
families may find West Memphis, Arkansas, a nice place to
live;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chamber of
Commerce of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, contact
representatives from the International Paper Company to
publicize the advantages of working in Memphis, ssee,
and living in West Memphis, Arkansas.
