RESOLUTION N0.
WHEREAS, in the November 4, 1986, GENERAL ELECTION, the
majority of the Citizens of West Memphis, Arkansas, voted for
a One Per Cent (1~) City Wide Sales and Use Tax; and,
WHEREAS, the Tax was badly needed to alleviate a
~, financial crisis for the City brought about by discontinuance
of Revenue Sharing Funds which the City has enjoyed for some
years in the past; and,
WHEREAS, some public spirited Citizens put forth time,
effort and their own money and worked long and hard for the
passage of this Tax and to improve the quality of life of our
City;and,
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, wishes to
pay tribute to some individuals who contributed their time
and efforts toward passage of this Tax;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
That the following named individual be commended and
thanked for their efforts toward the passage of a One Per Cent
(1~) Sales and Use Tax for the City of West Memphis at the
November 4, 1986, GENERAL ELECTION.
