WHEREAS, Mr. Doug Morris was first elected to the West
Memphis City Council in 1976 and served for ten (10) years,
through 1986; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Doug Morris has served as a dedicated, hard
working and conscientious council member and has through his
years of service faithfully served his constituents, his
City, State and Nation by his service in elected office; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Doug Morris has served on all committees of
the City of West Memphis and he has demonstrated outstanding
service as Chairman of the Act Nine (9) Bond Committee and
as Chairman of the Budget Committee; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Doug Morris has served the City of West
Memphis as Vice-Mayor for four (4) years; and
WHEREAS, during his term of office, Mr. Doug Morris has
maintained a perfect attendance record for all meetings of
the City Council;
WHEREAS, Mr. Doug Morris, during his years of service,
has always been known to be open and accessible to his
constituents and willing to listen to any matter brought to
his attention;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
That the City Council appreciates and will greatly miss
the services of Mr. Doug Morris for the contributions he has
made to the City of West Memphis during the many years he
served as a Member of the West Memphis City Council.
