WHEREAS it is the finding of the City Council that the Section 8
Existing Housing Program as administered by the Housing and Urban Develop-
ment Department is a viable Program in the City of West Memphis; and
WHEREAS the City Council has determined that the West Memphis Housing
Authority is an appropriate agency to administer this along with other
housing assistance programs; and
WHEREAS the West Memphis Housing Authority has expressed an interest
in continuing to administer the Section 8 Existing Housing Program on be-
half of the residents of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
1. That the City of West Memphis agrees to assign to the Housing
Authority of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas all of the rights, title
and interest of the City of West Memphis in and to the annual contributions
contract FW7166 and all the projects included in said annual contributions
contract.
2. That the City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to enter into
an assignment and other agreements as maybe necessary and approved by the
Department of Housing and Urban Development in order to complete this
assignment.
3. That the employees of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas acting
through the Community Development Agency which are currently administering
the Section 8 Existing Housing Program on behalf of the Cray shall'be
transferred to the employment of the West Memphis Housing Authority for
same said purpose.
