A RESOLUTION APPROVING A GRANT FROM THE
FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS
TO OBTAIN THE GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has been approved
for assistance under the Airport Improvement Program as
provided by the Airport and Airway Improvement Act of
1982; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration has
allocated for the West Memphis Municipal Airport a grant
in the amount of $436,000 for project number 3-05-0065-O1-87
to rehabilitate runway and taxiway lighting; replace rotating
beacon; install radio controls for lighting; install runway
end identifier lights; clean and seal runway joints; and
to remove obstructions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT the grant
from the Federal Aviation Administration in the amount
of $456,000 for project number 3-05-0065-O1-87 is hereby
approved and the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign the
necessary documents to obtain the grant.
