A RESOLUTION DECLARING A VACANCY ON THE CITY COUNCIL
AND CALLING FOR ELECTION OF AN ALDERMAN TO FILL THE
UNEXPIRED TERM OF ALDERMAN GARY WALKER.
WHEREAS, Alderman Gary Walker has announced his
resignation from the West Memphis City Council in order to
pursue business interests outside the City of West Memphis,
thereby creating a vacancy on the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is to elect an Alderman to
fill the vacancy and to serve for the unexpired term;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT nominations be
accepted for the position of Alderman from Ward One and
that an Alderman be elected to fill the vacancy and to
serve for the unexpired term of Alderman Gary Walker.
ADOPTED this 16th day of June, 1988.
