1152RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING ALDERMAN GARY WALKER FOR HIS SERVICE
ON THE WEST MEMPHIS CITY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, Alderman Gary Walker has found it necessary to
relocate his family to the State of Florida in order to further
pursue his business interests, thereby creating a vacancy in his
position on the West Memphis City Council; and
WHEREAS, Alderman Walker has served his constituency in Ward
One and all of the Citizens of West Memphis through his
legislative efforts in, among other things, drafting and passing
a new City Sanitation Ordinance and a comprehensive Sign
Ordinance that will benefit the City for many years and through
his service on the Budget Committee, the Insurance Committee,
the Sanitation Commission and the Public Works Commission; and
WHEREAS, Alderman Walker has served as liaison between the
City Council and the West Memphis Airport Commission and, as
such, he has contributed greatly to increased communications
between the City Council and the Airport Commission; and
WHEREAS, Alderman Walker was appointed by the Mayor to serve
as Vice-Mayor of the City of West Memphis; and
WHEREAS, the presence of Alderman Gary Walker on the City
Council will be greatly missed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT Alderman Gary Walker is
hereby commended for his dedication and service to his
constituency in Ward One and all of the Citizens of West
Memphis, Arkansas.
