A RESOLUTION DECLARING A VACANCY IN THE POSITION OF
ALDERMAN FROM WARD 2, POSITION 1, AND TO NOMINATE AND
ELECT RICHARD LINSKY TO FILL THE VACANCY FOR THE
UNEXPIRED TERM.

WHEREAS, the resignation of Roger Sumpter from the

position of Alderman on the West Memphis City Council from
Ward 2, Position 1, has created a vacancy in that position;
and
WHEREAS, in the general election held on November 8,
1988, Richard Linsky was elected to the position of
Alderman from Ward 2, Position 1, and he is scheduled to
take office on January 1, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to have Richard
Linsky complete the unexpired term created by the vacancy;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, that a vacancy is
hereby declared to exist in the position of Alderman from
Ward 2, Position 1, and that Richard Linsky is hereby
elected to fill that vacancy for the unexpired term.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 17th day of November, 1988.
