A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE MAIN STREET PROGRAM
AND DESIGNATING A CITY REPRESENTATIVE TO COORDINATE ALL PROGRAM
ACTIVITIES.
WHEREAS, the Main Street Arkansas program has been created to assist
small cities to develop a public-private effort to revitalize their down-
town areas, and up to three Arkansas cities will be selected to participate
in the project in 1989.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I. That the City of West Memphis, Arkansas apply for selection
to participate in the 1989 Main Street Arkansas program with the specific
goal of economic revitalization of the central business destrict within the
context of the preservation and rehabilitation of its historic buildings.
SECTION 2. That the City of West Memphis, Arkansas provide financial
or in-kind support for a Main Street project.
SECTION 3. That the City of West Memphis will appoint an official
representative to coordinate activities with the Main Street project manager.
