obtain ownership of such property it appears legal
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis desires to obtain
ownership of certain real property for the purpose of
developing a neighborhood park facility for the use and
benefit of the citizens of West Memphis; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has attempted
negotiations with the owner of such property for the
transfer of such property to the City of West Memphis
without success; and
WHEREAS, in order for the City of West Memphis to
proceedings for the condemnation of such property may be
necessary;
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONDEMNATION OF CERTAIN
DESCRIBED PROPERTY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, that the City Attorney
is hereby authorized to commence and to proceed to
conclusion condemnation proceedings with regard to the
following described real property:
That part of the Southeast Quarter of Section Seven
Township Six North, Range Nine East, particularly
described as follows: Beginning at a point in the west
boundary line of Eleventh Street, extended, 50 feet
north of the northeast corner of Block Twenty-eight of
ML Thompson's West Memphis Subdivision, as said block
and streets are shown by the plat of said subdivision
made by St. George Richardson, Civil Engineer, and
appearing of record in Plat Book 1, page 43, in the
office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Crittenden
County; and run thence west, parallel with the north
boundary line of said Block Twenty-eight, 150 feet;
thence north, parallel with Eleventh Street, extended,
270 feet, more or less, to the center line of Ten Mile
Bayou; thence in an easterly direction along the center
line of Ten Mile Bayou to the west line of Eleventh
Street, extended; thence south along the west boundary
line of Eleventh Street, extended, 165 feet to the
point of beginning.
