Council appointed Dr. Peeples to that position and the law says the appointee will continue to
serve in that capacity until someone is elected and duly qualified. He also reported that the
Attorney General's opinion requested by Representative Sumpter had not been received.
Having no further business to come before the City Council, Councilor Taylor moved, seconded

Mr. Luker suggested that the Commission continue with the corridor study, since there is
a few months left on the moratorium the Council placed on that area and adopt specific
criteria that would require specific screening from the street right-of--way for businesses
along the corridor.
Mr. Luker further stated that an overlay District is another possibility for this area. The
overlay district could be set up to not allow trucks in that area.
