AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2.51.030 OF THE WEST
MEMPHIS MUNICIPAL CODE ESTABLISHING THE SALARY FOR
THE POSITION OF CITY ATTORNEY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, A.C.A. §14-43-410(b)(1)(A) provides that "[b]y proper ordinance, any city
or town may specify pay for the city attorney as the council may desire;" and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the salary for the position of West
Memphis City Attorney;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 2.51.030 of the West Memphis Municipal Code is here by
amended to read as follows:
The annual salary for the city attorney is established at ninety-five thousand dollars.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of any such conflict.

AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH COMPENSATION FOR ALDERMAN FOR
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS
WHEREAS, the city Alderman of the city of west Memphis have not received
an increase in compensation since the year of 1985.
WHEREAS, it having been ordained by the city alderman of the city of West
Memphis, Arkansas that due to inflation and the cost index, that an increase in
compensation is warranted after 22 years without a compensation increase of any
kind; and
WHEREAS all ordinances and resolutions and parts of ordinances and
resolutions in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed including ordinance
# 1208 of 1985;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. the city alderman, of the city of West Memphis Shall receive
$10.500.00. annually.
SECTION 2. compensation shall be paid monthly.
