1910ORDINANCE NO. ~~ 10
AN ORDINANCE ATTACHING AND INCORPORATING CERTAIN
DESCRIBED ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD ONE OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, A.C.A. ~ 14-40-203 requires that when any territory shall have been
annexed to any incorporated town or city, it may be, and it is the duty of the town or city council
of the incorporated town or city to attach and incorporate the annexed territory to and in one (1)
or more wards of the incorporated town or city lying adjacent thereto; and
WHEREAS, the following described territory has been annexed to the City of West
Memphis and is adjacent to Ward One of the City of West Memphis:
Shady Grove Park Subdivision of Lots 17, 18, 19, of the J.C. Rainer Subdivision
of Southwest Quarter (SW'/4) and West Half (W'/~} of Southeast Quarter (SE'/4)
Section Ten (10) Township Six (6) North, Range Eight (8) East, commencing at
the Southeast corner of the Southwest Quarter of Section 10, to the City of West
Memphis, Arkansas.
Township 6 North, Range 8 East, Crittenden County, Arkansas, said point of
commencing begins 2640.00 feet eastwardly as measured along the South line of
Section 10 from its Southwest corner, thence North 00 degrees 06 minutes 30
seconds West, a distance of 60.00 feet to the point of beginning, said point of
beginning being the Southwest corner of Lot 16 of the J.C. Rainer Subdivision;
thence North 00 degrees 16 minutes 30 seconds West along the line dividing Lot
16 of the J.C. Rainer Subdivision, a distance of 2580.00 feet to the Northwest
corner of Shady Grove Park Subdivision, said point being the Southwest corner of
Northeast Quarter of Section 10; thence East along the line dividing the Northeast
Quarter of Section 10 and Shady Grove Park Subdivision.
A distance of 495.00 feet to the Northeast Corner of Shady Grove Park
Subdivision, said point being the Northwest corner of Lot 20 of the J.C. Rainer
Subdivision; thence South 00 degrees 16 minutes 30 seconds East along the line
dividing Lot 20 of he J.C. Rainer Subdivision and Shady Grove Park Subdivision,
a distance of 2580.00 feet to the Southeast corner of the Shady Grove Park
Subdivision, said point being in the North line of U. S. Highway No. 70 and Shady
Grove Park Subdivision, a distance of 495.00 feet to the point of beginning.
Containing 29.319 acres: 23.347 acres in 308 Lots and 5.882 in streets as shown
more or less.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The above described territory is hereby attached and incorporated to Ward
One of the City of West Memphis.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
