AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 8.04.120 OF THE WEST MEMPHIS
MUNICIPAL CODE, TO SET GARBAGE COLLECTION FEES AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, due to inflation and a 31.5 percent increase in landfill costs, the City of West Memphis
has found it necessary to increase the garbage collection fees to help cover these costs;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Section 8.04.120 of the west Memphis Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:
COLLECTION FEES
The fees to be chazged and paid for the collection and disposal of garbage shall be on a monthly basis
as follows:
ESTABLISHMENT MONTHLY FEE
Each residence or apartment occupied
by one (1) family, separate metered,
separate pickup $15.50
Apartment buildings, central pickup,
each apartment $13.50
Each building, house or part of buildings
occupied by a commercial business that
uses garbage cans $30.00
DUMPSTER RATES

Storefront churches located on Broadway
using cans and all other churches using cans
shall be billed at the residential rate of $15.50
Churches using dumpsters and those with a school
or daycare shall have dumpster rates as follows:

SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
